Black Box instead of DivX Web Player on Safari
Issue: Black box appears on the video file pages, instead
of DivX Web Player.
Platform: Snow Leopard
Browser: Mainly Safari, also reported for Firefox and Chrome.
Cause:
When DivX Player Plug-in doesn't seem to be working on some 64-bit
systems.
Solution:
For Mac OS X Snow Leopard: (See below for other platforms)
- Right click on the Safari dock icon.
- Choose Options > Show in Finder
- After the Finder window pops up, right click to the Safari Application icon and choose "Get Info" from the context menu.
- Enable "Open in 32-bit mode" option from the window.
- Restart Safari.
Other Platforms
Use DivX Web Player 1.5 for Windows, or DivX Web Player 1.4 for
Mac.
