What is SSL and will it keep my communications absolutely secure?
SSL is an acronym for “Secure Socket Layer”, a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. The protocol allows us to securely communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or communications forgery.
Put.io uses SSL encryption for across the site and for file download connections. We don’t use encryption for video and audio streams.
Secure connection is turned on by default. To change:
- Log in to your account.
- Click on the “Your Account” tab
- Click on “Settings” section
- Choose your connection type.
Remember that SSL encrypted connection is more secure, but slower.
