VLC player
Am wondering if we could play our video files on the iPad using the VLC player? Can't remember whether it allows you to add a link.

Hello Lee,
Unfortunately the VLC app on the iPad doesn't play files from the
network. (It's also not done by the real Videolan guys)
But we found two players that work with our stream links, both have a
free (ad supported) and a premium version.
They are called Buzz Player HD and OPlayer HD

it seems OPlayer doesn't work at all and Buzz Player doesn't like the URL
... is there a streaming protocol I should be using instead of https?
I am trying to use the streaming URL as provided for each video file.
Anything I need to know?

Hey Leo,
I just tested a streaming url on OPlayer HD (paid version) after reading
your response. It worked fine with https links.
Here is how i did:
* Logged in to my account on the iPad via Safari
* Visited a video page
* Clicked on the Stream using a local player link on the right side and held
my finger on it for a sec
* A popup menu opened. Clicked on Copy.
* Launched OPlayer and clicked "Open URL"
" Pasted the link and submitted.
Some players may not support https streaming. If this is the issue, you can
turn of https feature by visiting your settings page and choosing http
option.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,

Ah, sorry Lee for writing your name wrong in my last message. I apologise.

OPlayer allowed me to paste the URL in the network input but then did
nothing. Every time I tapped the item in the list it just went back to edit
the URL.
Buzz attempts to load the url but gives up after a second. I got it to run a
file from my EyeTV box though.
I'll look into it.

With the iPad, I just go to http://m.put.io, stream the movies from there and I can also send them to my AppleTV! Cool!
