Sure Ninja, how much bandwidth did you lose? We're unfortunately still working on this issue.

hello ninja,
since your files in protected space, it's so important to stay logged in or authenticated when downloading or resuming huge files.
could you send us md5 checksum and size (in bytes) of broken zip?
size: 3442287331 bytes
md5sum: 01907887e78be2713ffa4f5076eda87c
here is link of a simple md5 checksum calculator for windows. ( http://www.md5summer.org/ )

Hasan, I got 1.76Gb out of 3.20Gb right, the rest had CRC issues. Thanks. And I hope you get it right.
Engin, since DownThemAll is a browser add-on if I'm not logged in at put.io the manager gives an error message if I try to resume so yeah was logged. This is actually the 3rd file that gives me CRC problems and all the files with problems had videos inside. Maybe it`s something related to the file type? I'm no expert, just telling you that I download all sorts of things but I only had problems with videos so far.
Md5 is:
MD5 checksums generated by MD5summer (http://www.md5summer.org)
Generated 13/04/2010 14:10:09
33a8b64cabfecfa7953a526eecc94b66 *basket.zip
Size: 3.442.287.331 bytes
I think it's corrupted >_>
Since my file is different from the server could it be that something went boom with the transfer?

Hello there
I had this problem before you posted the notification, but it worked fine after few tries. Now i can't download anything not corrupted :(
Anywyay, I've noticed that when I download a zip file from put.io, it starts at full speed, then the speed drops gradually, and eventually it completely stops. The zip file isn't fully loaded so it's shown as broken.
Your browsers name and version: Chrome 5.0.375.99
Whether you used a download manager or not. If yes which one: No download manager
Include the download managers log file about the broken file if possible.
Your OS name and architecture if possible (32-bit or 64-bit): Win7 64 bits
Name of the archiving software you've tried to extract the file with: 7-zip 4.65 (64 bits version)

I noticed that for me it happens more often when fetching two or more files simultaneously.
Maybe problem is with PHP timeout? When we download file that is send to us with PHP it can be a problem.

The link generated by the ZIP Selected option is not holding for longer than 5 min or so. I am using Free Download Manager and the download simply terminates after 5 min.

This issue has been extremely frustrating for me. I burned through about 20GB and bought another 50 only to waste another 5 or so - all for failed downloads.
Your browsers name and version

Not possible, no download manager

I had the same problem with the same specs than the guy up there @Dom, except me I tried with Leech Download Manager and also with plain safari. Anyway it didnt worked.
Put.io should pay back the bandwidth that we are wasting.
44 Posted by AADrew8808 on 21 Jul, 2010 04:56 AM
this is a very serious problem in my opinion, and it greatly limits put.io's potential. i can only reliably download singular files. everything has to be downloaded individually for me, very rarely have i gotten the basket thing to work.
however that thing works i think theres something fundamentally wrong with it because basically everything gets corrupted for me. sorry to sound so negative but a few people that i showed Put.io to loved it but that problem really put them off.

I am using Firefox 3.6 and I too downloaded several zip files with "unexpected end of archive" I lost about 4 GB of bandwidth. Now I'm trying to download only single files but it's a hassle for me..
46 Posted by AuthorX on 22 Jul, 2010 06:12 AM
Using Google Chrome, no download manager, Windows 7 64-bit.
Although I doubt the OS is to blame as, like others have said, the zip is corrupted because it's incomplete - regardless of how many files I'm trying to get, the download just stops after a few minutes. I was planning to DL all the files from my free trial before I decide to actually subscribe, but now I have to do so one at a time. So, yeah... if I could reliably download a whole folder/zip, I'd definitely buy, but right now I'm still on the fence.

I dont think it has anything to do with download managers, OS, or any other client circumstance.

Hey guys,
Yesterday, we made an update to reduce connection drops. Please let us know if it helped or not. This will affect downloads after 29th of July, 14:30 (London time).
A brief info about the issue:
We had two seperate problems. First one was the format of zip files we've produced. This is fixed long time ago.
The second problem was that zip stream connection had been being resetted unexpectedly. The browser could not persist a connection and was giving up after some time without any notice, thus, leaving the file unfinished and broken.
We hope this update will reduce the problems or better yet solve it. Thanks for your patience and input.
Cheers,
Cem

Thank you. While it appears to have helped, it did not solve the issue completely. Where downloads previously stopped after 4-5 minutes, they now stop after about 15-20 minutes.
...oh, hm. I decided to test it once more just now, and it stopped after 4 minutes again. So I have been able to download single files in a zip (not really useful except for testing), and sometimes I have not. Large zips cannot complete before being cut off.

Same thing here. I am attaching another wget session. Connections are still being dropped after an unpredictable amount of time. You can also see what the speed was at the moment of the disconnection. I want to note that a few weeks ago I switched to the alternate route, and these disconnections happened much, much less often. I switched back to the default just for this test...
And by the way, once the transfer is complete -- after whatever number of connection retries -- I never ever got any broken zip.

Google Chrome 5.0.375.125 beta, Windows 7 32-bit. The ZIP-file just stops downloading, so nothing wrong with my archiver.
54 Posted by pangea on 17 Aug, 2010 06:22 PM
same is here,
it still doesn't work properly, I start downloading and drops almost every time after a while. My concern is if this failed downloads spending my traffic limit. If yes it means I'm paying for failed documents because I've tried to download tons of stuff which dropped after downloading first couple GB or hundreds MG so far .
What is the issue, what would you recommend?
Cheers

I've noticed that too on the machine I use Internet Download Manager. I split the download in several parts and if you keep looking at the log you see several reconnections. I haven't get any broken file since it resumes but I guess that might be problematic for the ones that don't use managers. The other machine uses DownThemAll so I didn't notice (log not visible in the download window).
Hope it helps with the issues here.
