Streaming problems using XBMC client for iPad and Apple TV

Congratulations for your service, which is truly excellent! Nevertheless, I've found some issues when streaming movies directly to the IPad (and Apple TV as well) using the put.io XBMC plugin. Actually, streaming DVD rips and files up to 1,5GB works just fine but streaming BD rips with 480p (or higher) resolutions throws an error and they don't even load. Can you please help me? Thank you very much

I just found out that this problem seems to be unrelated to the XMBC plugins (both for the iPad and the ATV) because BD movie rips also don't stream on my Macbook Pro using VLC. On the other hand, streaming directly from the web browser (Google Chrome in my case) works OK...

Still no answer after 20 days. Not a stellar customer service for sure...
I guess its not worth renewing my subscription.

Hello, we're so sorry we missed this. Probably because we did not yet have the chance to stream using the xbmc plugin to other devices.

But after reading more carefully, I see that what you are experiencing is a bandwidth problem. And there is unfortunately no cure for that. To stream a big MKV you usually need a throughput of more than 1 - 1,5 MB/s

Your speeds depend on so many factors, your location, the peering between our ISP's are the major ones. We try to circumvent known congestions by creating alternate routes.

If you haven't done yet, please use the speed test on your front page, and set an alternate route if one is faster. If this doesn't work, I'm afraid streaming hig quality content will be not possible with put.io. You'll have to download them.

Thanks for your reply but it's definitely not a streaming issue.

Just like I explained before these bigger files stream perfectly if we use the web browser but they simply don't work if we use VLC or any other external application.

You can check my account and use one of the files I've stored there for testing purposes... For instance the video file tagged with BRRIP plays perfectly on the web browser but not on VLC.

Hi mfmendonca, The Divxwebplayer does pseudo streaming (it downloads the fie and starts showing it before the download is over, like youtube) But VLC, boxee or xbmc they do the real kind of streaming which requires the available bandwidth to be equal to the media's bitrate...

So I still think this is a bandwidth issue. What is your connection speed? And what are some files you're trying to stream?

My connection speed is 50Mbps downstream and 5Mbps upstream (FTTH). I don't think it's a bandwidth problem but I'm out of ideas here...

Believe me, it's a bandwidth issue. But I hope that's going to change
since we're upgrading to a higher quality network and we're doubling
    the uplink.
