Creating/deleting MP4 version of a video file
Is there any plan to add this feature into the API? I am making a WP7 app and it would be great to not make the users go to Put.IO to convert a file to MP4 to watch it (even though I am still to get it streaming :P )
Also, when getting information about a file, it says if there is a MP4 version but it doesn't include the URL to this file and then I noticed the URLs to the streaming a normal video + MP4 is very similar
http://s01.put.io/stream-file/xxxxxx
http://s01.put.io/stream-mp4/xxxxx
Are these files always going to be on the same server? (s01)
Many thanks

Hi,
Short answer is no, it may change, because we upload mp4s back to cloud, as a workaround, you can make this,
http://www.put.io/stream-mp4/XXXX
if you send user to www.put.io, it will redirect to the best server, the XXXX part is basically the same as stream-file method.
I will discuss with colleagues and check if we can add mp4 convert methods and stream_mp4 attributes.

I definitely second this request. Having the ability within the API to create the MP4 is pretty essential these days and we need as well.
Thanks

Hello Everyone,
We consider to rewrite our API from ground up supporting oAuth2 for authentication. Until then we're only focused on its bugs and problems. The new API will have all put.io functionality.
